PACKED LUNCHES IDEAS FOR THE NUTTY KRUST SOCCER SCHOOLS

Packed Lunches ideas for the Nutty Krust Soccer Schools

When preparing packed lunches for kids, parents often run out of ideas that are quick and easy to make as well as provinding their kids witha variety to keep them interested. That's why we at Irwin's and Nutty Krust have came up with a list for parents to provide for their kids packed lunches that will keep them going through the day. And there's no better bread to do it with than with Nutty Krust, sponsor of the Irish Football Association's Summer Soccer Schools and Northern Ireland's favourite plain bread.

Below are suggestion that our nutritional department has came up with for kids that are attending the IFA/Nutty Krust Summer Soccer Schools: -

  • Grated carrot and cheese with light mayonnaise
  • Chopped cooked chicked with light mayonnaise and lettuce
  • Leftover roast meat with grated carrot, chopped lettuce and chutney or tomato sauce
  • Lean ham, sliced cheese and dried pineappple
  • Tuna salad with green peppers, onion and carrot
  • Cream cheese and cucumber
  • Grilled lean bacon with lettuce and tomato
  • Hummus and salad leaves
  • Low Fat Soft Cheese, salmon and tomato
  • Reduced fat mozzarella and olives
  • Spicy chicken
  • Chopped chicken, reduced fat coleslaw and sweetcorn

A little less sophistcated recipes are jam and banana sandwiches. Both are a great source of energy that is quickly absorbed into the body and bananas being a great source of potassium that levels out salt intake into the body with the natural ingredient properties of the jam, these sandwiches are quickly prepared!!

Try to include a piece of fruit and a drink. Water is best because you can freeze it and put it into your lunchbox to keep your food cool.
