Irwins Bakery attends numerous shows throughout the year such as BBC Good Food Show and the Balmoral Show.
It's some of the best ways to get in touch with regular consumers of our products and gives us the perfect opportunities to sample some new products that we are thinking of launching.
Recipe for a great weekend; Good food, Check. Good music, Check. Great craic, Check. Amongst Friends, Check. These were the ingredients put together over a weekend in September when ‘Tesco Taste Northern Ireland’ filled Custom House Square, Belfast.
Over 60 suppliers came to present their wares which are sourced and produced locally to the masses that attended. As always the Festival’s aim was to encourage consumers to make the switch from imported good to those grown and gathered locally.
Always proud to show off our fine produce, we had pan loaves, batch bread, jammy and snowy Joeys on offer to sample and purchase. This year we showcased our FRESHLY BAKED RANGE which went down a treat!
Our Freshly Baked Range is now available in Tesco stores so you can enjoy fresh bread every morning – now that’s something to get up for!
Home grown bread is still as popular as ever. 80,000 people flocked to the event that saw sheep shearing, stilt walking and the Young Farmers Club of Ulster Tug of War! With so many attractions and events it was hard for one to know where to go……Or was it?
Of course the Irwins stand was the place to be seen. With numerous products on offer such as the Nutty Krustto our new Bagel range including plain, brown, cinnamon and raison. People flocked to get hold of their Nutty Krust that tastes great when toasted with a slathering of butter that was also available to try. The smell of the cinnamon and raison bagels was enough to stop people in their tracks.
Irwins were placed inside the NI Food Pavilion which hosted over 60 of the best local produce about and over 20 of Northern Ireland’s best chefs who provided cookery demonstrations using the fresh local produce.

Summer 2013 brought Paul Rankin back to the BBC Good Food show. The popular TV chef saw his Rankin Selection be put on display to be scrutinised by all of the astute food lovers passing by. Whilst browsing the Rankin stand you were able to chat with the TV personality about recipes, bread and perhaps even the weather!
Obviously, the secret recipe was well worth all of those hours creative cooking in the kitchen! Shoppers were encouraged to ‘Try before you buy’ which was encouraging as once they had tasted the scrumptious Rankin Selection breads, they snapped up their buys before they missed out. Breads available were the classic Potato Farls, Stoneground Wheaten and Fruit Soda.
Keep a lookout on the website and our Facebook page for more information on upcoming shows and exhibitions we will be attending.
