On the 17th to 23rd of June 2011 over 200 Irwin's employee's put their 'Best Foot 4ward' and walked, hopped, skipped and ran their way from Belfast to Cork. All the money has now been collected and handed over to the four chosen charities.
A grand total of over £18,000 was raised!
| Representatives from the 4 charities and a handful of the many Irwin's employees that worked to raise the money. | Johann from Our Ladys Hospital Crumlin The Children’s Medical and Research Foundation “The money raised by the staff at Irwin’s is greatly appreciated, and your support leads to discoveries that means less pain for children, a higher survival rate and less time in hospital” |
Nigel from Helping Hands “This money will be used in our scanner appeal. This is an ongoing £2million campaign to provide an MRI scanner for Royal Belfast Hopsital for Sick Children which is currently the only children’s hospital in the UK which does not provide this facility”. | Joanne from Macmillian “All the money raised by Irwin’s bakery employees will go towards the Cancer Support Services in Craigavon.” |
Sidney from New Beginnings “This money will go towards the development of a children’s village based in Nakasongola in Uganda. The village takes orphaned children from the streets of Kampala and re-houses them, teaching skills to provide a better chance in life”. |
